Shangri-La’s Brand New Tower Wing Has Finally Re-opened!

After eight months under wraps, Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore has finally unveiled the new look of the iconic Tower Wing on 16th May. In a private launch, which saw the attendance of close family, friends, partners, Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore revealed a refreshed lobby with brand new rooms and suites, three novel restaurant concepts, and a revitalised club lounge.

Jovially welcoming us to the intimate celebration, Vice President and General Manager Reto Klauser’s opening speech reminded us of the need to take a breather from the fast-paced journey of life – which is a broad essence of the re-launched Tower Wing and the Shangri-La brand of legendary hospitality.

The newly-rejuvenated Tower Wing offers 503 completely renovated guestrooms and suites, including Deluxe Rooms, Horizon Club rooms, unique family-themed rooms, One-Bedroom Suites, and the newly added 250 square metre Grand Suite.

Guests staying in the Horizon Club Room floors can look forward to exclusive access to the Horizon Club Lounge on the 24th floor,  with unparalleled panoramic view of the city skyline, breakfast, cocktails and an array of healthy snacks. Got work duties? You can get your pair of dinner shoes shined at any time of the day whilst answering emails at one of the mobile work stations there.

With the beautiful, elegant setting of Tower Wing lobby as the backdrop, the hotel executives dotted the lions’ eyes and cut the traditional red ribbons to bring luck in.

As we stepped in to the lobby, we were greeted with warm smiles from the immaculately dressed staff. The high ceiling, majestic pillars, and spaciousness of the lobby lent a certain sense of comfort. The elongated silk panel depicting raindrops behind the front desk looked elegant and complemented well with the celadon-coloured front desk tables made of shagreen. The art sculptures positioned.aren’t just random pieces thrown in for sophistication, but fascinating, approachable pieces that captured the interests of all.

The celebration earlier also included the official opening of The Lobby Lounge. One of the fresh food and beverage concepts in Tower Wing, Lobby Lounge will showcase the best of Singapore hawker favourites, including six signature dishes: Fish Head Bee Hoon Soup, Prawn Noodle Soup, Bak Chor Mee, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Katong Laksa, and Chili Crab with Mantou – selected with the help of popular local food blogger at, Dr. Leslie Tay.

Located right beside The Lobby Lounge, another addition to Shangri-La Hotel’s dining offerings is The ShopHouse. Pivoted around the grab-and-go retail concept, it offers freshly-baked bread including flavoured croissants, healthy homemade sandwiches, salads and snacks, as well as gourmet local sauces like chincalok, festive goodies, 3D cakes and pastries, and chocolates that are infused with local ingredients and whiskey.

Another exciting dining destination that’s set to open end of this month is NAMI Restaurant and Bar on level 24, an authentic Japanese restaurant featuring the fine art of omotenashi hospitality, and a rooftop terrace serving bar bites and cocktails.
